Their aims are to:
- Advance the education of poverty-stricken children (initially in South Africa and India and eventually worldwide) through the provision of schools, educational material, human resources and financial support.
- Raise awareness amongst children in the United Kingdom as to the educational opportunities open to them in order to increase their appreciation and encourage them to make full use of these opportunities.
Their approach is to:
- Work only with local people who know for themselves what the children need
- Supply funding directly to the people at grass roots level, by-passing local governments, to ensure that the money is always available and that overheads are kept to a minimum
- Liaise closely with local authorities to ensure projects are appropriate and acceptable
- Raise money for specific projects and manage them from start to finish
- Encourage children around the world to help each other
By working personally in affected areas, Schools 4 Schools make the greatest difference to the lives of those children in need. They are able to identify projects and work quickly to fill the gaps, giving children food, education and hope where none had existed.Schools 4 Schools are helping to make a real difference to the lives of children around the world.
