   PEOPLE FOR 4 SCHOOLS

Next time you’re on holiday and a child asks if they can do a small job for you in exchange for cash, don’t get annoyed, get thinking! You may be providing the money for their only meal of the day.

It was a scene like this that led to the birth of Schools 4 Schools.

Tara Lonnen, Kurt Rowe and Debra Stevens are friends and business colleagues. Through their work as corporate trainers, facilitators and actors they travelled the world and witnessed for themselves the terrible injustice of children who had no food, no education and no hope.

They knew they had to do something to help.

Returning to London they approached their major corporate clients and described what they had seen, asking for help to make a difference in the children’s lives. Support was immediately promised.

They later approached the actress Joanna Lumley, asking her to become patron of the charity they had founded. Joanna was already well known as a champion of impoverished people around the world and as the patron of the Tibetan House Trust she has helped children in their search for education. Joanna firmly believes in small charities and so was delighted to support the charity.
