To obtain funding from within The Gambia for many of the regional private schools is very hard to achieve. This has resulted in many schools with either virtually derelict buildings or a long list of repairs waiting to be done.



It goes without saying that the best teachers and resources will have no effect on the children if their classrooms are not habitable or unsafe.



During our time in The Gambia we have finished building programmes which others started, built whole new classrooms from the floor up, replaced roofs & floors as well as repainted many classrooms.



The condition of these classrooms was not caused through vandalism as some might suspect but due to a chronic lack of funding. We have been able to give schools classrooms they can be proud of, equal to the pride in their school which they already have.
